McShane & Brady, LLC is investigating a data breach from McKesson, a US healthcare company that provides medicines, medical supplies, technology, and services to healthcare providers and pharmacies.

McKesson says it discovered the cybersecurity incident on August 25, 2026.

According to a cybersecurity update from McKesson on August 29, “we’ve confirmed that the unauthorized access to certain third-party applications and the exfiltration of certain data was associated with a subset of customers within our Oncology & Multispecialty and Medical-Surgical business units.”

“Our investigation remains ongoing and we continue to fully ascertain the scope of information that may have been accessed or acquired,” the update states.

The ShinyHunters extortion group is claiming it stole 284 million patient data records.
