Wayne Memorial Hospital

Wayne Memorial Hospital, located in Jesup, Georgia, has announced a data breach that has affected over 163,000 people.

According to a filing of a data breach with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, “On June 3, 2024, WMH detected a ransomware event, whereby an unauthorized third party gained access to WMH’s network, encrypted some of WMH’s data, and left a ransom note on WMH’s network.”

An investigation was conducted and found  evidence that the unauthorized actor had access to a limited number of WMH systems between May 30, 2024 and June 3, 2024.

Per the notification letter, “The unauthorized actor may have had access to the following categories of information: name, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, state identification number, user identification and password, financial account number, credit or debit card number, credit card expiration date or CVV code, Medicare or Medicaid number, health insurance member number, healthcare provider number, diagnoses, medical history, treatment information, prescription information, and lab test results or images.”

Farmers Insurance

Farmers Insurance announced a data breach that has affected over 1,000,000 people. Farmers Insurance serves roughly 10 million households offering car, property, life, commercial and other types of insurance.

According to the notice of incident report from Farmers, “On May 30, 2025, one of Farmers’ third-party vendors alerted Farmers to suspicious activity involving an unauthorized actor accessing one of the vendor’s databases containing Farmers customer information. The in-depth investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed the vendor’s database on May 29, 2025, and acquired certain data. On July 24, 2025, the review determined that certain personal information related to a select population of Farmers customers was subject to unauthorized access and acquisition.”

Information in the breach include name, address, date of birth, driver’s license number, and/or last four digits of Social Security number.

Farmers began sending notices of the breach on August 22, 2025.

McShane & Brady has filed suit in this case.  If you have received notification of this breach, please call us at 816-888-8010.

LoveSac

The LoveSac Company, US furniture retailer best known for its modular sectional sofas and large beanbag-style seating, has announced a data breach.

A breach was first detected on February 28, 2025, when LoveSac identified suspicious activity within its network.  An investigation was conducted and concluded that an unauthorized actor accessed and exfiltrated data  between February 12 and March 3, 2025.

The information that could have been subject to unauthorized access includes name, and Social Security number.

The filing of the data breach does not indicate how many people have been affected by his breach.
