Laboratory Services Cooperative
Laboratory Services Cooperative (LSC), a lab that provides medical testing services to Planned Parenthood clinics in 31 states across the country is notifying 1.6 million patients, workers and those who paid for healthcare on behalf of another person that their personal and health information was accessed or removed in an October 2024 hacking incident.
According to a Notice of Data Breach from LSC, “On October 27, 2024, LSC identified suspicious activity within its network. In response, LSC immediately engaged third-party cybersecurity specialists to determine the nature and scope of the incident and notified federal law enforcement. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized third party gained access to portions of LSC’s network and accessed/removed certain files belonging to LSC.
Data that may have been accessed include medical/clinic information, health insurance information billing, claims and payment data.
Letters are being sent to those who have been affected by this breach.
DISA Global Solutions
DISA Global Solutions, Inc., a third-party employment screening company, which provides drug and alcohol testing and background checks, announced recently a data breach that has affected more than 3.3 million people.
According to a letter sent to those affected, “On April 22, 2024, we discovered that we were the victim of a cyber incident that impacted a limited portion of our network.”
An investigation was conducted and found “an unauthorized third party accessed our environment between February 9, 2024, and April 22, 2024, and procured some information.”
Information disclosed could have included people’s names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, other government ID numbers, financial account information and other data elements.
