OU Health Data Security Incident From Stolen Laptop

According to a release from OU Health, an employee laptop was stolen on December 26, 2022.   The employee’s OU health emails were contained in the laptop.  Those affected were sent a letter via US Mail on March 17th.

Following an investigation, per the release, it was discovered on January 17, 2023 that data potentially accessed and acquired by the unauthorized party may have contained sensitive protected health information.  This information included Social Security numbers, driver’s license information, DOB, medical records, diagnoses, providers names and/or health insurance information.

According to the Department of Health & Human Services data breach report website, this breach has affected 3,013 people.
