Recent Data Breaches

Absolute Dental
Absolute Dental, a Nevada dental practice with over 50 locations in Las Vegas, Carson City, Reno, and Sparks has confirmed that more than 1.2 million individuals had some of their personal and protected health information exposed.
An investigation was conducted and concluded that an unauthorized third party had access to its network between February 26, 2025, and March 5, 2025.
Those affected had their name exposed along with the following: contact information, DOB, driver’s license or state-issued ID information, SSN, passport or other governmental ID info, and health information.
Farmers Insurance
Farmers Insurance announced a data breach that has affected over 1,000,000 people. Farmers Insurance serves roughly 10 million households offering car, property, life, commercial and other types of insurance.
According to the notice of incident report from Farmers, “On May 30, 2025, one of Farmers’ third-party vendors alerted Farmers to suspicious activity involving an unauthorized actor accessing one of the vendor’s databases containing Farmers customer information. The in-depth investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed the vendor’s database on May 29, 2025, and acquired certain data. On July 24, 2025, the review determined that certain personal information related to a select population of Farmers customers was subject to unauthorized access and acquisition.”
Information in the breach include name, address, date of birth, driver’s license number, and/or last four digits of Social Security number.
Farmers began sending notices of the breach on August 22, 2025.
TransUnion
TransUnion is one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States, alongside Equifax and Experian.
According to the notice of data breach submitted to the Office of the Maine Attorney General, the breach occurred on July 28, 2025, and was discovered July 30th.
TransUnion confirmed that the stolen personal information includes customers’ names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers.
