Mc&B Investigating WestJet Data Breach

McShane & Brady is investigating a data breach from Canadian based airline WestJet that has affected over 1.3 million customers, according to the Office of the Maine Attorney General.

WestJet flies to 19 US states and the District of Columbia.

On June 13, the company disclosed a cybersecurity incident that disrupted internal systems and made the WestJet app unavailable to customers

WestJet completed an investigation on September 15, and according to the findings, data types exposed to the attackers include full name, date of birth, mailing address, travel documents, filed complaints, WestJet Rewards Member ID, points, and other information, WestJet RBC Mastercard, WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard, or WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard information.
