United Healthcare Files Notice of Data Breach

On July 28, 2023, United Healthcare Services, Inc. filled a notice of data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights.

An unauthorized party was able to gain access to sensitive information belonging to 398, 219 individuals.  Some of those affected may be in Missouri and Kansas.

It was determined that an unauthorized party gained  access to the information between the dates of December 1, 2022, and January 25, 2023.  The breach resulted in the names, member ID numbers, plan types, and counties and states of residency of certain individuals being compromised.

UHS has begun sending out letters to those who have been affected by this breach.
