McShane & Brady Investigating Los Angeles County DPSS Data Breach

McShane & Brady, LLC is investigating a data breach from the Los Angeles County Department of Social Services.

According to a filing with the Office of the California Attorney General, an incident occurred between January 2024 and May 2025 at the County of Los Angeles (County) DPSS. A County employee accessed personal information contained in their electronic systems without a legitimate business reason.

The letter of disclosure dated May 19, 2026 states, “The information about you that was accessed included your first and last name, case
number, date of birth, CIN number, social security number, and information relating to your public assistance benefits.”
