Samsung confirms data breach, personal data stolen

Samsung revealed in a company blog posted on September 2 that on or around August 4, 2022, it was determined that personal information of certain customers was affected by an unauthorized third party.

According the the blog, names, contact and demographic information, date of birth, and product registration information may have been affected.  Samsung was notifying customers via email to make them aware of the breach.

This is the second time this year that Samsung suffered a data breach.  In March 2022, a breach occurred after hackers leaked 189 GB worth of sensitive data online.
