Tea, McKenzie Hospital Announce Breaches

Tea 

Tea, an app that lets women anonymously comment and review dates with men, has suffered a data breach, with hackers gaining access to 72,000 user images.

Tea to the No. 1 spot on Apple’s U.S. App Store as of July 24, according to Sensor Tower, a research firm.  Tea said in an Instagram post that it had reached 4 million users.

According to an Instagram post from Tea, unauthorized access was gained to their archived system which stored about 72,000 self-submitted images- including 13,000 images of selfies and selfies including photo identification submitted during account verification.

Additionally, according to the Instagram post, 59,000 images publicly viewed in the app from posts, comments, and direct messages from over two years ago were accessed.

McKenzie Memorial Hospital

McKenzie Memorial Hospital in Sandusky, Michigan, has recently disclosed a cybersecurity incident that was detected on or around April 15, 2025 that has affected over 54,000 individuals.

An investigation was conducted and concluded that its network was accessed by an unauthorized third party between April 14, 2025, and April 15, 2025. During that time, files containing patients’ protected health information may have been accessed.

Information that may have been compromised include names, Social Security numbers, and financial account information.

Finastra

Finastra is a financial software company that provides solutions to banks, lenders, and other financial institutions experienced a data breach in late 2024 that compromised sensitive customer information on its Secure File Transfer Platform.

The breach was detected on November 7, 2024, with unauthorized access occurring between October 31 and November 8.
