McShane & Brady, LLC is investigating a data breach from Monroe University in New York. Monroe University is a private institution with over 9,000 students with campuses in New York (Bronx and New Rochelle), and in the Caribbean nation of Saint Lucia.
Anunauthorized party had access to certain Monroe systems between December 9, 2024, and December 23, 2024, and acquired copies of some files on their network during that time.
The type of information involved may have included one or more of the following: name, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, passport number, government identification number, medical information, health insurance information, electronic account or email username and password, financial account information, and/or student data.
According to a filing the Office of the Maine Attorney General, this breach has affected over 320,000 individuals.
Notification letters have been mailed to all affected individuals.
