Mitchell County Department of Social Services in North Carolina recently announced a data breach due to a ransomware attack.

An investigation was conducted and found that there had been unauthorized network access between October 16, 2025, and October 20, 2025.

It is still unclear what information was involved and how many people have been affected by this data breach.
