Hertz Rent A Car

Car rental company, Hertz, says sensitive customer data has been exposed in a cybersecurity incident involving one of its vendors.

On or around February 10, 2025, The Hertz Corporation, including Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty brands confirmed that its file transfer vendor, Cleo Communications US, LLC, experienced a data breach on its computer network.

Hertz and Cleo determined that cybercriminals infiltrated Cleo’s system and accessed certain Hertz data files from October 2024 through December 2024.

Notifications indicate at least 100,000 people are affected.

Hertz says the data breach exposed customer information, including names, contact details, credit card records and driver’s license numbers.

Landmark Admin

Landmark Admin is a Texas-based third-party administrator for life insurance and annuity companies like Liberty Bankers Life and American Benefit Life, which offer policies nationwide.

Landmark Admin suffered a security breach on May 13, 2024, when  activity was detected on the company’s networks.

An investigation was conducted and found the personal information of 806,519 people had been stolen.

More than 1.6 million people are now thought to have been affected by the May 2024 cyberattack at Landmark Admin, more than twice than originally reported in 2024.

Information stolen included people’s full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, driver’s license numbers, state-issued ID card numbers, passport numbers, financial account numbers, medical information, dates of birth, health insurance policy numbers, and life annuity policy information
