Hospital Sisters Health Systems Reports breach

On August 27, 2023, HSHS discovered an unauthorized third party gained access to HSHS’s network.  An investigation concluded that the third party has access to files between August 16 and August 27, 2023.

HSHS is a Springfield, Illinois based healthcare system that operates 15 hospitals and other healthcare facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Information that may have been accessed include name, address, date of birth, medical record number, treatment information, health insurance information, SSN, and/or driver’s license number.

It is still unclear the number of patients that have been affected by this breach.

Letters have recently been sent to those who have been affected by this breach.
