TransUnion Announces Data Breach: 4.4 million affected

McShane & Brady, a Kansas City law firm representing individuals whose personal and private information has been breached by unauthorized access, is investigating a data breach from credit reporting giant TransUnion that has affected more than 4.4 million customers’ personal information.
TransUnion is one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States, alongside Equifax and Experian.
According to the notice of data breach submitted to the Office of the Maine Attorney General, the breach occurred on July 28, 2025, and was discovered July 30th.
TransUnion confirmed that the stolen personal information includes customers’ names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers.
