McShane & Brady Investigating Hightower Holding Data Breach

McShane & Brady, LLC is investigating a data breach from Hightower Holding, LLC, the parent company of Hightower Advisors, LLC, a Chicago-based independent wealth management firm.

On Jan. 9, 2026, Hightower Holding discovered that a user account had been compromised, resulting in unauthorized access to its systems.

An investigation was conducted and concluded that between Jan. 8 and Jan. 9, 2026, files containing sensitive information were downloaded without authorization.

Personal information disclosed included names, Social Security Numbers, and drivers license numbers.

Data breach letters to over 130,000 people began being mailed out on March 23, 2026.
