McShane & Brady Investigating Allianz Life Insurance Breach

The Law Firm of McShane & Brady is investigating a data breach involving Allianz Life Insurance of North America, a Minneapolis based financial services provider.

Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America has confirmed a large-scale data breach that exposed sensitive personal data of most of its 1.4 million U.S. customers.   It is believed that breach took place July 16, 2025.

Allianz has stated that sensitive personal information was involved in the breach. While the specifics of the data have not been detailed, such breaches typically involve personal information such as names, contact information, social security numbers and financial data.

According to an email told to Reuters, “On July 16, 2025, a malicious threat actor gained access to a third-party, cloud-based CRM system used by Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life). The threat actor was able to obtain personally identifiable data related to the majority of Allianz Life’s customers, financial professionals, and select Allianz Life employees, using a social engineering technique.”
