Hutchinson Clinic Data Breach Affects 100,000 Individuals

Hutchinson Clinic has recently begun sending letters to those who have been affected by a data breach that occurred between December 19, 2022, and December 21, 2022.

According to a letter from Hutchinson Clinic dated August 1, 2023, “On or about December 21, 2022, Hutchinson Clinic became aware of suspicious activity related to certain Hutchinson Clinic computer systems.  Through the investigation, it was determined that there was unauthorized access to Hutchinson Clinic’s network between December 19, 2022, and December 21, 2022.  The unauthorized actor had the ability to acquire and claims to have taken certain information stored on the network during the period of access.”

“The investigation determined that your name, medical procedure information, medical provider name, clinical or treatment information, medical record number (MRN)patient account number (PAN)/patient ID, and date of birth were included with files that may have been accessed and/or acquired by an unauthorized individual.”

This breach has been reported to affect some 100,000 individuals.
