American First Finance

American First Finance is a leading provider of financial services, specializing in offering flexible payment options to consumers.

According to a filing of a data breach with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, on May 31, 2024, a data security incident involving a former employee accessed after the end of their employment.

FinWise Bank contracts with American First Finance for technology. AFF is contracted to provide the application platform, facilitate the loan origination for FinWise, as well as service the loan on behalf of FinWise.  FinWise has begun sending data breach letters to their customers informing them of this breach.

According to the Office of the Maine Attorney General, this breach has affected over 680,000 people.

Fairmont Federal Credit Union

West Virginia-based Fairmont Federal Credit Union has announced a data breach that has affected more than 187,000 individuals from a cyberattack discovered in January 2024.

An investigation was conducted and found the attackers had access to the credit union’s network between September 30 and October 18, 2023.

According to the Notice of Data Security Incident,  information as risk includes full name, date of birth, address, Social Security number, treatment information/diagnosis, prescription information, provider name, MRN/patient ID, Medicare/Medicaid number, health insurance policy/subscriber number, other health insurance information.

LoveSac 

The LoveSac Company, US furniture retailer best known for its modular sectional sofas and large beanbag-style seating, has announced a data breach.

A breach was first detected on February 28, 2025, when LoveSac identified suspicious activity within its network.  An investigation was conducted and concluded that an unauthorized actor accessed and exfiltrated data  between February 12 and March 3, 2025.

The information that could have been subject to unauthorized access includes name, and Social Security number.

The filing of the data breach does not indicate how many people have been affected by his breach.

Letters are being sent to those affected.
