BCBS of Montana Data Breach.. 462,000 Affected

McShane & Brady is investigating a data breach of approximately 462,000 current and former customers of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana.

Conduent Business Services, which Blue Cross of Montana with payment, document processing, and other back office services, announced a data breach on that began on October 21, 2024 and lasting for almost three months.  On April 9, 2025, Conduent Business Services disclosed the cyberattack in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). At the time, it was unclear exactly how many individuals had been affected.

Conduent Business Services has other clients which reportedly has affected approximately 4.3 million individuals.
